In a move that was named as Knockout of the Night earning himself a $65,000 bonus, Anthony Pettis knocked out Joe Lauzon with a head kick at UFC 144 held on February 26, 2012 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Nicknamed “Showtime” for his spectacular kicks, Pettis earned himself a shot at newly crowned Ben Henderson’s UFC Lightweight title.
It would be a rematch of their fight at WEC 53, the final WEC match ever last December 2010 where Pettis pulled off the craziest head kick in MMA history.
